NEOlinguists
we are a PhD candidate association
operating under the patronage of
the Institute of English,
the Institute of English Cultures and Literatures,
and the Institute of Romance Languages and Translation Studies
of the University of Silesia
We would like to invite you to attend our seminar devoted to language and humor which offers an opportunity to learn different approaches to research methodology. This collaborative research project will cover both linguistic and cultural perspectives, as well as literary and translation studies so as to provide important insights into language for humorous purposes. We want to welcome all PhD candidates and final year MA students who wish to contribute their papers and participate in the discussions directly related to methodologies that can be applied to studying humor through the lens of various paradigms.
We will listen, discuss, and work together to establish a wider framework for some problematic issues, encourage debate, and answer burning questions with a view to improving academic research work. The seminar aims to bring together students and young academics in various fields of research  in order to exchange views on the aspects of humor in language studies.
